🎉 Introduction:
As part of José Cuervo's Day of the Dead campaign, the creation of an interactive filter that would transform a mural in the Zócalo of Mexico City into an augmented reality experience was proposed. My contribution focused on designing the animation and providing a base video to inspire the animator in charge of the project.
As part of José Cuervo's Day of the Dead campaign, the creation of an interactive filter that would transform a mural in the Zócalo of Mexico City into an augmented reality experience was proposed. My contribution focused on designing the animation and providing a base video to inspire the animator in charge of the project.
🔥 Challenge:
The challenge was to create an augmented reality experience that would allow users to interact with a mural in the Zócalo of Mexico City. An impactful and immersive animation was needed to capture the essence of the Day of the Dead and reflect the José Cuervo brand.
💡 Proposal:
It was proposed to use a mural-shaped marker to trigger the augmented reality experience. The idea was that when pointing the phone towards the mural, it would come to life with an animation inspired by the theme of the Day of the Dead and the José Cuervo brand.

🚀 Implementation:
To facilitate the understanding of the creative vision, I created a base video using Adobe After Effects. This video showed a 3D scenario in a 2D environment, bringing the augmented reality animation to life conceptually. The idea was to provide the animator with a clear and detailed visual guide for the creation of the final animation.
The proposed animation included elements such as dancing skulls, José Cuervo bottles transforming into musical instruments, and vibrant colors filling the mural space. All of this was combined to create an immersive and festive experience for users.
📊 Result:
Although the interactive mural filter was not ultimately implemented, the proposal stood as an example of José Cuervo's creativity and innovation in its Day of the Dead campaign. The base video provided a clear and detailed vision of the proposed animation, showcasing the potential of augmented reality to create impactful and memorable experiences.
🎉 Conclusion:
Although the interactive mural filter was not realized, the design and development process served as an opportunity to explore new ways of engaging with the audience. The proposal demonstrated the potential of augmented reality to transform physical spaces and create unique experiences that emotionally and meaningfully connect with users.
